🌲 Sequoia Park Ivy League is back for another pull! 🌲
📚 We have our own Ivy League in town and it’s not what you think. Instead of hitting the books, we are hitting the park to eradicate invasive ivy from our beloved Redwood forest.
⛲ Drop into the park anytime between 9am and 1pm on Saturday, October 17. Meet at the Glatt St. Fountain at Glatt & T St. We will have all supplies for you, and we will train you on everything you need to know.

What started in 1911 with a plot of land in Talent, OR has grown into multiple labs with dedicated researchers supporting Southern Oregon agriculture through real-world research, education, and outreach to ag industry, local educators, and the public.

If you've ever been curious about exactly what we do at Southern Oregon Research and Extension Center (SOREC), now is your chance to learn more about our Entomology, Plant Pathology, and Viticulture labs through interactive exhibits, take a haywagon ride around our research orchards and vineyards, and visit Extension programs in the auditorium!

This event is free and open to all.

Join the Schneider Museum of Art for “Eons: Unraveling Time,” an exhibition curated by Maria de Los Angeles featuring the work of eleven artists exploring our complex relationship with time. Through painting, sculpture, photography, installation, printmaking, textiles, and video, the exhibition considers time through memory, history, mythology, labor, tradition, and imagination, inviting visitors to slow down, look closely, and consider how the past continues to shape the present. This exhibition will be on view through March 13, 2027.

Featured artists: Ryan Bonilla, Cody Bustamante, Laurel Bustamante, MK Guth, Maria de Los Angeles, Charlene Liu & Isami Ching, Sara Siestreem (Hanis Coos), Gerry Snyder, Alex Valentine, and William Warden.

Admission is always free, with a suggested $5 donation. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free docent-led tours are offered every Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. For more information, contact sma@sou.edu or 541-552-8248.

Join the Ashland Gallery Association for Southern Oregon Open Studios!

Taking place on Saturday and Sunday, October 17 and October 18, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.,this is a fun and unique opportunity for visual artists who are based in Southern Oregon to show off their creative realms. These spaces are always one of a kind, and each studio has its own peculiarities in set up and working methods depending on the medium and the artist’s needs. While these places where work is made are as individual as the artist, what they all have in common is the energy of creation. This is the forum where an artist is allowed to freely experiment, develop ideas, and fail or succeed.

This year, Southern Oregon Open Studios will feature over twenty artists, and visitors will have the opportunity to engage with everything from painting, to embroidery, sculpture, glass blowing, and more. A variety of art demonstrations have been scheduled to take place throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday. There will also be an ‘afterparty’ in which artists and visitors can connect in one central place.

Southern Oregon Open Studios is generously sponsored by Evergreen Federal Bank. The tour is free and open to the public, and all proceeds benefit the Ashland Gallery Association and its efforts to promote the visual arts in Southern Oregon.

The 2026 WomanKind Biennial, on view September 18 through October 30, brings together 25 local women artists, nonprofit organizations, women-owned and local businesses, and Jackson County Library Services for a community-based contemporary art project connecting visual art with women's causes, cultural exchange and direct community action.
Public is welcome to join for the Period Poverty Presentation with JCLS librarian Jody Flemming from 1-3pm on October 17th, 2026.
The public is encouraged to bring period products for the domestic violence shelter and nonperishable food for the ACCESS food drive. Period-product donations will become part of an evolving sculptural installation during the exhibition and will ultimately be donated to the shelter through Women Entrepreneurs of Southern Oregon (WESO).

Women's Biennial Contemporary Art Exhibition & Activation featuring presentation on period poverty with JCLS librarian Jody Flemming.

Bring hygiene products and help build the evolving donation sculpture installation art piece! All donations will be delivered by WESO to the Dunn House shelter for the Welcome Baskets given to shelter residents.

Give yourself an afternoon of creative retreat time. We will use writing prompts and simple art exercises to explore the theme of healing in our lives and our writing.

If you are interested in writing as a form of creative expression, working on a piece of writing, or simply curious about the possibilities, join us. This workshop includes writing prompts, simple art activities, and time for connection. Some scholarships available. This is an unsponsored program – meaning you will book directly with the instructor.
