Is your child going to be age 5 by September 1st? Then it is time to enroll for Kindergarten. Ashland School District enrollment is now open for the 2026-2027 school year.
Experienced students are the focus of this ongoing class but beginners may join after contacting the instructor. Tai Chi and Qi Gong are calming practices that incorporate slow movement, breathwork, visualization, and meditation. Consistent practice fosters improved balance, body alignment, coordination, and overall sense of well-being. Tai Chi students will also practice the Qi Gong.
To determine if you are ready for this level placement, please contact instructor Carolyn Wolf prior to attending at carwolf@sonic.net.
Instructors Bio: I have been a certified Tai Chi Practice Leader (from the Institute of Integral Qi Gong and Tai Chi) since 2015 and have been leading classes locally since then. I enjoy sharing all the practice has to offer; relaxation, increased body awareness, improved balance, meditation techniques, and overall improved well-being.”

For the 11th season, IN A LANDSCAPE: Classical Music in the Wild tours the American West. Mountain tops, old-growth forests, and sunny meadows replace the traditional concert hall in the series featuring pianist Hunter Noack on a 9-foot Steinway concert grand piano. Listen through wireless headphones and wander afield with the music as a soundtrack to your experience in the wild.
About this Landscape
Mildred Kanipe Memorial Park lies seven miles northwest of Oakland, Oregon, spanning nearly 1,100 acres of rolling rangeland once owned by lifelong rancher Mildred Kanipe and her family. The park includes more than 14 miles of trails and campsites equipped with horse corrals, reflecting its continued connection to ranching, recreation, and equestrian use.
After inheriting and expanding her family ranch, Kanipe left the property to Douglas County in 1983 with the condition that it be preserved as a public park. Her legacy continues in the protection of the land’s wildlife, including her well-known peacocks, and in the preservation of historic features such as the Kanipe Farmstead, a National Register–listed schoolhouse, and the park’s century farm designation. The land is part of the ancestral homeland of the Kalapuya people.
The IN A LANDSCAPE Concert will take place alongside the creek, approximately a quarter to a half-mile walk north of the equestrian parking area and campground. A limited number of ADA parking spots will be available near the Baimbridge-Kanipe historic farmstead day-use area.
This concert benefits Umpqua Symphony Association, in memory of Lauren Young.
Are you listening to the news of the world right now and wondering, "What can I do?!" We've got just the thing for you. KS Wild hosts monthly Activist Nights where we bring you a fresh topic every month to learn about what's happening on your public lands and offer quick, easy, actionable opportunities to stand up for the places that make our area so special and beautiful.
For this month's KS Wild Activist Night, we are digging into the 2001 Roadless Rule. What is it, how did it come to be, why is it important to protect our wildlands, and what's under threat with the proposal to revoke it.
Join us at the KS Wild office from 6-7pm on Thursday, August 27th for a virtual trip into some of our most beloved wildlands that fall under an "Inventoried Roadless Area" protection and learn how you can help stand up with us to protect them.
These Activist Nights are FREE and open to folks of all ages who wish to learn more about ways they can step up into action for their rights and the places they care about most. Sign up for this month's Activist Night below to receive information about our monthly topic and about what to bring.
Why Are Oregon Schools FAILING?
Oregon ranks at the bottom nationally for K–12 academic success. We also have some of the lowest attendance and graduation rates. Salem politicians say they’re going to hold schools accountable. But that’s of little use if we don’t fix the root cause of failure.
Join us at the Medford Library for an information-rich exchange about how we rebuild Oregon K–12 Education to succeed.
