The 2022 farmers market season opens in Siskiyou County Monday, May 16, from 3:30 to 6 pm on East Castle Street in downtown Mount Shasta. Mount Shasta Farmers’ Market is committed to providing a convenient way for community members to buy food directly from growers and producers in a beautiful outdoor setting with live music. An increasing variety of fresh produce, meats, plants, starts, baked goods, spring rolls, tamales, crafts and more will be available every Monday afternoon (except July 4th) until mid-October. MSFM is a Certified Farmers Market that offers free Market Match vouchers to spend on vegetables and fruit, up to $20 per market day, for CalFresh customers who purchase at least $20 in EBT tokens. We have a wide assortment of food available. Bags with staple items are pre-filled, but we will gladly add any special requests if they are available. When you visit, there is always a simple lunch. On the last Wednesday of every month, we serve a pretty darned good hot meal with salad and a huge table filled with pies and desserts. We call it a community lunch. All are welcomed.

Come for breakfast from 9:00-10:30am and stick around for the 34 minute documentary about our neighbors in Tulelake and a Q&A with Autie Carlisle, the director afterwards.

We will be showing the brand new film:—Out of Place— Mitzi and Cheewa share about their cultures’ unmarked graves in Tulelake and how they have preserved their family history despite incarceration camps and Indian schools.
