Animal Prince leads you on a soul-searching adventure to a dance party in the forest (or maybe even a nearby venue) with two tender, danceable, and delightfully feral new singles that tease their upcoming album.
Emerging artist Animal Prince is a captivating art-pop act led by vocalist-violinist Fae Nageon de Lestang and percussionist Grant McLeod. After establishing their presence in the Bay Area music scene in 2017, the duo found a new sound by navigating the extraordinary period marked by the pandemic and climate crisis. Under a dark orange sky, they sought solace in the embrace of nature and escaped to the woods – remaining stubbornly determined to find meaning, joy and good dreams amidst the chaos.
Animal Prince is set to embark on a nationwide tour with their band in tow, celebrating the release of two singles. Any Day is scheduled to release on March 1, followed by Impossible on April 4. These singles serve as integral components of their forthcoming debut full-length album, Have Good Dreams, written and self-recorded in a geodesic dome home in East Oakland.
Any Day - Listeners hear an invitation, like a cool breeze from a floating island, to delicately navigate between the struggles of depression and what it means to take accountability for one’s own happiness. Set sail into a daydream of self-discovery and resilience, and sway to lush vocals, dreamy harps, and bossa nova-inspired percussion with a twist of lime.
Impossible is a profound, hook-filled exploration of extremes within ideological echo-chambers. Just how arguments might initially start out as small conversations, the song's repetitive, melodic layering crescendos to an explosive chorus: a representation of self-discovery amidst intense discourse.
