New Exhibition - StitchPunk presented by SAQA

Studio Art Quilt Associates, Inc. (SAQA) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote the art quilt: "a creative visual work that is layered and stitched or that references this form of stitched layered structure."

Our vision is that the art quilt is universally respected as a fine art medium. SAQA’s core values are: excellence, innovation, integrity, and inclusion.

Over the past 3+ decades, SAQA has grown into a dynamic and active community of over 4,000 artists, curators, collectors, and art professionals located around the world.

Medford Children's Therapy invites Jackson & Josephine county residents to join our FREE monthly Family Education Series, led by our experienced Occupational & Physical Therapists.

Designed for parents and caregivers to learn practical strategies that support their children's success at home, school, and in the community, while connecting with other families.

Most classes are held online, with quarterly in-person sessions. Join us on each third Tuesday of every month at 4:30PM!

Topics include managing routines, sensory regulation, personal care, independence, and life skills.

Whether you're looking for new strategies to support your child, seeking resources within the local community, searching for answers to small or complex challenges, or simply the opportunity to connect with other families & caregivers, we'd love to have you join us!

The Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest will be supporting the Klamath Tribes annual Huckleberry Mountain ceremony. The 10-day closure dates will be determined soon, based on the readiness of the berries.

This is the third year the forest has supported this cultural tradition. Ahead of the 10-day closure, the forest and Tribes will be hosting a public meeting for interested people to learn more.

Before he was mesmerizing Pacific Northwest crowds, Southern Oregon’s Nick Garrett-Powell was working as a certified audio engineer in Hollywood, mixing audio for major Disney and Warner Bros film remasters. Today, he’s taking that master-level understanding of sound and bringing it straight to the live stage.

Nick doesn’t just play music; he creates an interactive audio spectacle. Described as a “stunt guitarist,” his futuristic approach unifies complex acoustic fingerstyle, jaw harp, mandolin, and soaring vocals.
Instead of backing tracks, Nick uses live looping to layer percussion, deep bass grooves, and gypsy jazz leads directly from his six-string.

It’s an organic, fascinating look at modern music creation that seamlessly floats between smooth reggae and groovy basslines; jazz standards and intricate fingerstyle; and mid-century classics to modern pop hits. This concert features a unique combination of musical offerings. The plan and intent of Nielsen’s Helios Overture is to depict the rising of the sun, its journey overhead through the day, and its setting in the evening over the sea with the Greek god Helios, who personified the sun. Then the musical journey moves into the solar system with the North American Premiere of Tõnu Kõrvits’ composition Beyond the Solar Fields, written for our soloist, Martin Kuuskmann. This entire program will delight and inspire an appreciation for the woodwinds. We further explore beyond the earth and feature bassoon artistry with Carl Maria von Weber’s composition for bassoon and orchestra Andante & Rondo ongarese. The evening ends with performance of Brahms Symphony No. 3 that moves us into this uncertain world and ends quietly for us to ponder our existence.
