Dual-resident painter and San Francisco Art Institute alum Patricia Schaefer- Robbins will debut a concurrent solo exhibitions at Nous Restaurant.

The exhibition brings a unique global perspective to Ashland’s art scene. Splitting time between
studios in Ashland and London, England, Schaefer-Robbins uses oil and acrylic to weave together
botanical themes, still life, pagan traditions, and ancient lore.

At Nous Restaurant, visitors will get an exclusive look at mythical and ritualistic works, including
"Offering," and pieces from an ambitious new series of larger-scale panels exploring goddess
mythology, such as "Court of the Autumn Equinox" and "Song of the Green Woods."

Part arts festival, part outdoor science lab, this one-of-a-kind event invites curious people of all ages to explore mushrooms (and all fungi) through hands-on workshops, wild food, natural dyes, citizen science, immersive art, live music, games, growing demonstrations, and nighttime nature walks. No mushroom knowledge required—just bring your curiosity.

Day passes begin at $25, children 12 and under attend free, and free childcare is available during workshop sessions.

The first Culture Commons Festival brings three days of music, art, film, dance, storytelling and food to venues across the Eureka Cultural Arts District, September 25 to 27. Friday opens with Red Cedar, a Native percussion ensemble. Saturday: a makers fair at Blue Ox Millworks, taiko and dance on the waterfront, a puppet parade to the Old Town Gazebo, and a drag runway show at the Clarke Museum. Sunday: a Stories of Wigi celebration of storytellers at the Wiyot Tribe's Da Gou Rou Louwi' Cultural Center, short films by North Coast filmmakers at the Eureka Theater, and square dancing and swing to close. All are welcome to enjoy a delightful evening of social dancing at the North Bayside Grange on Saturday, September 26th, from 6-9pm. Dance to great live music and skilled calling. This friendly community gathering is open to singles and couples. Join the fun at the Bay Area Family Contra Dance, featuring three hours of congenial social dance. This monthly event is sponsored by the South Coast Folk Society. It’s a light-hearted community gathering appropriate for teens and adults. It’s free, and open to everyone age 12 and up. New dancers are always welcome. No prior experience or partner is required at this alcohol- and fragrance-free party.

Contra Dancing is fun, and easy to learn, like an old-time barn dance.  It’s a delightful way to socialize to beautiful, uplifting music. Come swing your partner and do-si-do to the foot-stomping music of the Outstanding Open Band. Popular caller Paul Poresky will provide a lesson for new dancers at 6:00pm, and expert calling all evening.  Wear casual clothes and comfortable shoes. Please join us on the dance floor, or relax and enjoy fine music.

Many thanks to the North Bayside Grange, a wonderful dance venue, for hosting these fourth-Saturday dances. Musical Delights & Desserts IV is a benefit event. Members of Trinity Choir will perform Musical Delights, including selections from opera, musical theater, and choral repertoire, in Trinity’s Sanctuary and a Desserts Reception will follow in the Parish Hall. Your $20.00 Donation will help fund Trinity Episcopal Church's Outreach, which awards grants to non-profit organizations that provide assistance to women and children, for health aid, and for disaster relief. Acclaimed singer-songwriter Gráinne Hunt is thrilled to announce her upcoming US tour, a journey through vibrant venues in Washington, Oregon, California, Utah and New Mexico! In addition to the West Coast tour dates, Gráinne has been invited to showcase at FARM Folk Alliance and there will be a show in St Paul, MN too. The tour kicks off on the 10th September and features intimate performances at renowned venues, community spaces and listening audience-favourite rooms.

Performing as a duo with San Diego’s Jules Stewart on drums and vocals, the pair create a sound that’s been compared to The Indigo Girls and Brandi Carlile - rich harmonies, heartfelt stories, and magnetic onstage chemistry. Together, they’ve been described as “the bi-continental queer folk duo you didn’t know you needed in your life.”

Gather together to celebrate the changing of the seasons: goodbye summer, hello fall!

Each quarter surrounding the equinox and solstices, we hold community gatherings to honor the seasons and introduce people to the burial ground. This autumn, we’re thrilled to announce that local artist Cory Glory is leading us in a community mandala making session at the entrance to the cemetery. Glory will use natural materials from our farm and forest to create an altar and environment of beauty, celebration, inspiration, healing and wonder.

We will take a break (BYO snacks or picnic!) and then provide a group tour of the burial grounds at 12:30. We will be available until 2pm to chat, answer questions, and bask in the glory of the seasons. Join us!

Participants are invited to join us for any portion of this free event. All ages welcome, please leave dogs at home.

We hope to meet new friends at the upcoming Art & Nature workshop organized by the newly revived Upper Rogue 4-H Club (starting on Sunday, 9/27 at 2:00 PM at the Shady Cove Library and repeating every 4th Sunday of the month ongoing).

Come learn about 4-H and have fun with family and new friends as we make mosaic art outside the Shady Cove Library with elements of nature!

4-H membership not required for introductory workshop session. Come check us out! Don't forget your camera or smartphone to take pics of your creations. Supplies provided but feel free to bring your own treasures you find out in nature. You can make art out of anything! Nature is the most talented artist of all!
