Dual-resident painter and San Francisco Art Institute alum Patricia Schaefer- Robbins will debut a concurrent solo exhibitions at Nous Restaurant.
The exhibition brings a unique global perspective to Ashland’s art scene. Splitting time betweenstudios in Ashland and London, England, Schaefer-Robbins uses oil and acrylic to weave togetherbotanical themes, still life, pagan traditions, and ancient lore.
At Nous Restaurant, visitors will get an exclusive look at mythical and ritualistic works, including"Offering," and pieces from an ambitious new series of larger-scale panels exploring goddessmythology, such as "Court of the Autumn Equinox" and "Song of the Green Woods."
Discover the joy of music in this engaging class designed for children 0-5 and their caregivers. This class combines singing, rhythm, movement and sign language. Get ready to sing beloved songs from around the world and make music together in this weekly class! Sponsored by Jackson Care Connect. (Ages 0-5 with accompanying adult -$5 per child ) This class repeats weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Instructor Bio: Laurie Finear has been a music teacher in the Rogue Valley for over 15 years as a certified Music Together teacher. She now creates and teaches her own music classes for children and their caregivers in Ashland and Jacksonville. She is passionate about sharing the joy of music with children and families.
The 2022 farmers market season opens in Siskiyou County Monday, May 16, from 3:30 to 6 pm on East Castle Street in downtown Mount Shasta. Mount Shasta Farmers’ Market is committed to providing a convenient way for community members to buy food directly from growers and producers in a beautiful outdoor setting with live music. We have developed a comprehensive program consisting of four classes, each designed to address different stages and aspects of the healing journey.
Support - Meet others with a story to tell and realize that you are not a failure, and more importantly, you are not alone.
Transitions - After telling your story, it’s time to transition from the past and learn from it, forming a new "normal".
Boundaries - Figure out what an appropriate boundary is for family, friends, significant others, and even yourself.
Rebuilding - Work on building better relationships and a whole new life.

The Rogue Valley is famous for its fertile farmland and abundant natural resources. So why is so much of what residents eat shipped in from far away? In this Big Ideas conversation, Alison Hensley Sexauer, Executive Director of the Rogue Valley Food Systems Network, and Maud Powell, Professor of Practice with the OSU Extension Service Small Farms Program, will give some insights into what it takes to shift our diet and habits to grow and eat locally.
Alison Sexauer is the Executive Director of the Rogue Valley Food System Network (RVFSN), a backbone nonprofit coordinating food systems work across Jackson and Josephine counties in Southern Oregon. With over twenty years of experience in food systems work, she leads a network of 50+ partner organizations working across food access, local food economy, soil and water health, and food waste reduction. Alison is deeply committed to building the connections and cross-sector relationships that help rural Rogue Valley communities create a local food system that serves all. She currently serves as Board President of A Greater Applegate and as a board member of Project Beaver.
Maud Powell is a Professor of Practice for OSU’s Small Farms program at the Southern Oregon Research and Extension Center in Central Point, Ore. She and her husband have owned and operated Wolf Gulch Farm, a small diversified vegetable and seed farm in the Applegate Valley for 27 years. She is the current president of the Rogue Valley Food Systems Network and serves on the boards of Our Family Farms and Klamath-Siskiyou Wildlands.
The monthly Big Ideas discussion series features prominent local experts speaking on relevant and timely issues affecting our community. Lectures are jointly sponsored by the Friends of the Ashland Library, Ashland Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), and Jackson County Library Services.
