Experience a late 1800s Christmas celebration when Historic Jacksonville, Inc. opens the 1870s Beekman House for Victorian Christmas tours. Located at 470 E. California Street and once home to the town’s wealthiest and most prominent pioneer family, the house is decorated for a 19th Century holiday. Victorian costumed docents will be sharing stories of festivities in the late 1800s along with the origins of popular Christmas traditions that settlers brought with them from all over the world. Find the good luck German pickle ornament on the Christmas tree. Steal a kiss under the mistletoe. Learn how holiday letters became Christmas cards. Hear how Santa’s appearance has changed over time. Sample one of Mrs. Beekman’s sugar cookies. One-hour tours begin every 20 minutes from 12n through 3pm.

We present the ethereal arrival of divine beings with "A Gathering of Angels" in the main gallery this month. Local artists and gallery members are participating in this annual event, which has become a beloved winter tradition in our community. Come ready to be captivated by original artworks depicting angels, saints, and ephemeral entities of all kinds. It’s a truly special show.

Imagine West Texas in 1955. A struggling young widow and her three ranch hands are trying to come up with “Somethin’ Special for Christmas” for her young son with the help of his school teacher, while a nefarious neighbor is plotting how to buy her ranch. This Generations Theater Company production is also a dinner theater catered by Smokin’ Gingers, a popular local food truck. The play opens in Junction City on November 28 and runs for two week-ends through Dec. 6, with evening and Saturday matinee shows.
