American Legion Grants Pass Post 28 is having 8-Ball Tournaments is having on every Wednesday, starting at 7pm. Straight 8-Ball, bar rules, with a $5.00 buy in. 206 NW F St, Grants Pass. 541-474-6400. There will be food and drinks available for sale.

Calling all artists, writers, creatives! Join us for an informal afternoon of inspiration and art making in the early fall.

Take a field trip out of the studio, and enjoy the golden hour as it befalls the golden grasses and blue hillsides. Explore what it means to make art as part of the story of a healing landscape. We will share about the meadow and creek restoration demonstration site and have thoughtful discussion of the meaning of restoring a native landscape. You will be inspired by fall colors, birds, peace, and the unique landscape and the community that stewards it.

You will have the opportunity to learn about the local ecology in our area, the biocultural restoration work at the Vesper Meadow Restoration Preserve, and connect with other artists. Join us for a group painting, sketching, writing experience. VM Director Jeanine Moy and artist Sarah Burns will lead a guided a short introductory hike and then participants will independently work with the meadow as muse for a couple of hours. Afterwards, we’ll gather at the barn to share work and experiences. Space is limited for this free event, please RSVP.

All are welcome to experience the joy of folk dancing, and enjoy wonderful live music Friday, March 13, and every second Friday throughout the year, in North Bend. The North Bend Public Library invites everyone to join the fun starting at 6:00 Friday evening in their newly remodeled Activity Room. This is a special series of free public dances. Folk Dance Night at the Library will be a regular monthly gathering every second Friday at 6:00. New dancers are always welcome. Call 541-404-8267.

Learn about the ghosts that still linger in Jacksonville’s historic district while learning a little history about the buildings, their occupants, and life in a gold rush town. Join Historic Jacksonville, Inc. for a very “spirited evening” on a guided Haunted History walking tour.
Tours leave from the Jacksonville Visitors Center at the corner of North Oregon and C streets and last about 1 hour. Choose from 2 different tours each night. The Courthouse route features brothels, epidemics, and hangings. The Britt Hill tour highlights murder, arson, saloons, and Oregon’s oldest Chinatown. And both tours have lots of haunted houses!

Starting May 3, the heart of downtown Ashland will be home to the Saturday Market, running every Saturday until October 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the 100 block of Oak St. This exclusive one block long market provides healthy options, fresh organic produce, artisan foods, and more every week for the locals and travelers passing through. We encourage everyone to join us in supporting local while cultivating community in Southern Oregon.

Sound Advice! is a free monthly, peer to peer, and hands-on introduction to hearing loops put on by The Shedd’s Hearing Loop Committee. Practice using your hearing aid or cochlear implant to access hearing loops to dramatically improve hearing accessibility in both public and personal settings. Theatres, including The Shedd, Florence Event Center, Cottage Theatre, and the Liberty Theatre are looped. Many houses of worship are looped. Eugene Airport and the Library are looped. Small loops can be installed at any reception desk or checkout counter. Loops can be portable to take with you to hear better in many settings. TV rooms, computers, taxi cabs, buses, and even outdoor events can be looped. Come join friends with hearing loss to learn about this important and universal technology. Friends and family are encouraged to attend!
