American Legion Grants Pass Post 28 is having 8-Ball Tournaments every Wednesday, starting on January 14, at 6pm. Straight 8-Ball, bar rules, with a $5.00 buy in. 206 NW F St, Grants Pass. 541-474-6400. There will be food and drinks available for sale. Tournaments will continue on Wednesday nights as long there is interest in them.

Drop your scraps at the ScienceWorks parking lot. When food waste is dumped in landfills and methane, aka “natural gas”, is created. This service costs $30 for December 2025 through February 2026. ACCEPTED ITEMS:– All non-meat/non-seafood scraps and leftovers– All fruit and vegetable peelings, pits, and shells– Pumpkins– Rice, pasta, bread, cereal, and oats– Egg and nut shells– Dairy products– Coffee grounds and filters, teabags

Family trees and pedigree charts provide a simple graphic format for presenting the who, when, and where of our ancestral research. But do you want a simple family tree, a horizontal pedigree chart, a fan chart, or a descendants chart? How many generations should you put on one chart? And what the heck is an ahnentafel chart? Jeanne Hoadley will explore some of the many types of ancestry charts available along with various software packages for producing them. She will also discuss the pros and cons of handwritten charts vs. computer generated ones. The class will take place from 10:30 AM until noon followed by a hands-on help session from 1:00 - 3:00 PM.Cost: $10 RVGS members, $20 non-members

Join local resident and home chef, Jerry Pendzick, as he demonstrates a favorite and flavorful stew recipe that is sure to delight! Added to some crusty French bread and you have a delicious meal. Bring a friend to share in this fun-filled afternoon. Recipes and tasting will be shared with all participants!
Instructor Bio: Upon retirement, Jerry Pendzick discovered his love for cooking. Trying new recipes and sharing them with family and friends has turned this self-taught chef into a “passionate” foodie. Jerry makes food preparation fun, easy and very tasty!
