Join Lori Grable for a Beginning Yoga class! This class is open to anyone who is interested in trying out yoga for the first time or wants a refresher yoga class after a layoff. Come with comfortable clothes, a yoga mat and water bottle. New students can arrive at 10:15.
Instructor Bio: Lori began her yoga journey in 2000 as a student at the Santa Barbara Yoga Center. She was drawn to the practice because it helped her to reconnect with her most authentic self while making her stronger and more open, physically and mentally. Her passion for yoga grew stronger as she traveled around the United States during the summer of 2003, practicing at many studios along the way. After settling in Pittsburgh, PA, she completed her teacher training and began teaching in 2006.
Today, Lori is an E-RYT 500 and teaches Vinyasa-based classes. She is influenced by the philosophy and alignment principles of Anusara Yoga. As a triathlete, Lori has an interest in yoga for athletes and has taught many workshops on the topic. She has a passion for the outdoors and has taught yoga in parks, vineyards, and backyards. Lori appreciates the healing and restorative qualities of yoga and has also worked with students who are recovering from illness, rehabilitating injuries, pregnant, or elderly.
Ever wonder what the Founding Mothers did to help America win their independence from Britain? The American Revolutionary war wasn’t fought just by the men. Women had a huge impact on the outcome of the war. They fulfilled many roles that were a major contribution to winning the War of Independence, from setting up a national boycott on British goods to working as spies, scouts and even a few as soldiers. Tames brings to life many of these extraordinary women whose, cunning, courage, and creativity helped win the war and shape our country.
In the first half of this program, Tames’ clothing, made from patriotic wool and linen, reflects the hundreds of women who took an active role in the War of Independence. It was a woman who the founding fathers trusted to print the Declaration of Independence with all of their signatures, and it was a woman who disguised those taking part in the Boston Tea Party. Many more worked as spies, scouts and even a few as soldiers. They helped prisoners escape, and defended their property.
In the second part of this program Tames changes into an imported printed cotton gown and talks about the women who did fund raising and kept their farms and businesses running, as well as organizing for food and supplies to get to the ever-moving Continental army. These women refused to accept the limitations placed on them based on their gender. Motivated by their desire to help America become an independent nation, they went above and beyond to help in any way they could, and often in surprising and ingenious ways.

Join us once a month for a welcoming, hands-on art program designed especially for neurodivergent adults and families. Each session invites participants to explore a different art medium in a relaxed, judgment-free environment where creativity is encouraged and process matters more than the final product.
Together, we’ll experiment with painting, unconventional materials, and tactile, hands-on techniques to create unique works of art. This program is all about having fun, trying new things, and connecting with others through creative expression. No prior art experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to explore.
All abilities and experience levels are welcome. Come as you are, make a little mess, and be part of a creative, supportive community.
Meet our facilitator:
Hello all! My name is Amelia and I am a local muralist and artist with a goal of cultivating community through the power of creativity. Increasing accessibility to art and empowering others to explore mediums without judgement is my mission. As a self taught artist, I have learned that patience and practice are key elements when mastering a craft. The inspiration behind much of my work involves nature, and noticing the little things.
I believe in sharing knowledge and supporting one another in treating our world, and each other, better.
