Humboldt Trails Council will be hosting the 2024 Trails Summit at the Sequoia Conference Center, 901 Myrtle Avenue, Eureka on Saturday, June 1. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. with a resource fair of trail partners, and presentations begin at 10:30 a.m. This year’s theme is “Celebrating Trail Partners” and will highlight the exciting progress that has been made in developing our trails including those under construction, in the planning phase, and the new trails you can visit today. Do not miss this opportunity to learn about, celebrate and be inspired by the partnerships that make shared paths and trails possible. Speakers will include President pro Tempore Mike McGuire and General Manager for the Great Redwood Trail Agency Elaine Hogan, who will speak about the Great Redwood Trail Master Plan; Hank Seemann will share updates about the county’s efforts to connect and extend the Humboldt Bay Trail; Emily Sinkhorn from the City of Arcata will speak to the work being planned on the Annie and Mary Connectivity Trail, and Jesse Willor from the City of Eureka will share plans for the Bay-to-Zoo Trail. Refreshments will be provided.

Come experience the history, flora and fauna of Lithia park in a guided tour led by knowledgeable and passionate volunteers.
Walks run every Saturday morning at 10:00am, May through September. Walks last between 60 and 90 minutes, are free of charge, and are open to locals and visitors alike.
Please meet your guide at the front entrance of Lithia Park across from the Plaza.

Come see the incredible sculpture of 2 dynamic artists. Claire B. Jones, from Washington, takes her colorful cloth and creative stitching sculptures to new heights. These 3D sculptures surround you with light as you follow the twirls and swirls of her artwork. Running concurrently are the works of Melissa Thompson from Montana. Melissa creatures fantasy animals using fiber and mosaics, on her taxidermy art. The playful colors and textures will draw you into a world of creativity.

The Grants Pass Center for Spiritual Living is having its 3rd Annual Community Fun Fair on Saturday June 1st from 11:00 to 4:00. This year’s theme is Discovery! We want to inspire you to discover more fun and connection in your community. Our Fun Fair will have a bouncy house for kids, games, a treasure hunt, great food by our Center Burger & More, and free snow cones for kids. The Rogue Gallery & Art Center invites everyone to attend an artist talk by Kristen O’Neill, whose series, “Common Ground” is currently exhibited in the gallery. Learn about the experiences of Kristen learning about wildfires as she made this series.
