The Enneagram is an ancient and sacred nine-pointed symbol and system of personal transformation that describes different personality types. “Ennea” is Greek for nine, and “gram” means a drawing, written character. Study of the Enneagram can help to: 1) Identify and move beyond old, unconscious and painful habits of body, heart and mind 2) Increase understanding and compassion for self and others 3) Effectively integrate psychological, behavioral and spiritual life 4) Gain access to type-related Spiritual Qualities and, ultimately, your Essence or True Nature.
This presentation introduces participants to the fundamentals of the modern Enneagram, applications of theory and practice will be noted, e.g. in business, therapy, relationships, parenting, etc. We will look at the spiritual or transpersonal dimensions of the system, which include the Virtues and Holy Ideas, Essential or Spiritual Qualities, and the return to our True Nature.
Carl Marsak, an academic and spiritual teacher with decades of experience in Enneagrams practices, is founder and director of The Enneagram Center of Southern Oregon.
