Imagine West Texas in 1955. A struggling young widow and her three ranch hands are trying to come up with “Somethin’ Special for Christmas” for her young son with the help of his school teacher, while a nefarious neighbor is plotting how to buy her ranch.
This Generations Theater Company production is also a dinner theater catered by Smokin’ Gingers, a popular local food truck. The play opens in Junction City on November 28 and runs for two week-ends through Dec. 6, with evening and Saturday matinee shows.
ASL interpretation for the Deaf is provided at the Nov. 29 matinee and the Dec. 4 evening show.

Enjoy the sights and sounds of holiday trains at the Rogue Valley Mall again this year from the Medford Garden Railroaders. This club from the Medford Railroad Park will showcase its holiday model railroad layout on the first floor of the Rogue Valley Mall, 1600 N. Riverside Ave., Medford, near the Kohl's department store. Trains will operate from Black Friday, Nov. 28, through Dec. 31 during mall hours. Admission is free; donations are appreciated. This 11-week program covers critical topics like wildfire risk reduction, forests, soil health, wildlife habitat, pasture management, stream care, water capture and distribution, and much more.

Parent Project is a 10-week series where we go over topics like improving family relationships, using effective discipline to improve school attendance and performance, reduce substance use and negative peer influences, and how to address destructive behavior. It is an opportunity to meet with other parents in similar situations in a judgement free zone and begin to develop a new support system. When you feel like you have tried everything and nothing is working, we can help.

Learn about the life and legacy of one of the 20th century’s human rights pioneers: Helen Keller, who was deaf and blind since childhood. Author, advocate, and human rights pioneer, Helen Keller, used her courageous spirit to champion rights for women, people with disabilities, and people living in poverty. What was the driving force behind a deaf and blind woman to improve the lives of others?

Alex, founder of Zen Institute, at age 28 quit his job as a corporate accountant and began his training in Zen Buddhism. He volunteered for two years at the Sacramento Children’s Home, where he helped abused children, and for 3 years he taught meditation at Folsom State Prison. Alex witnessed the positive transformation of the inmates as a result of their meditation practice amid the most difficult conditions.

Alex collaborates weekly on radio and television by sharing his knowledge of human potential, and by sharing topics related to mindfulness, children, women’s rights, how the subconscious mind works, and business.
