Spring Book SaleCome to the Eureka Library, 1313 Third Street, on Friday and Saturday, April 10 and 11, for the Friends of the Redwood Libraries` big Spring Book Sale. Hours both days will be 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday's sale is for members only; memberships are available at the door. Saturday's sale will welcome everyone. Thousands of books, both fiction and non-fiction, will be available at fantastic prices. Look especially for cookbooks and a huge selection of quality mysteries. Credit cards are welcome; small bills are appreciated for cash sales. Proceeds will benefit the entire Humboldt County Library system.
Join Lori Grable for a Beginning Yoga class! This class is open to anyone who is interested in trying out yoga for the first time or wants a refresher yoga class after a layoff. Come with comfortable clothes, a yoga mat and water bottle. New students can arrive at 10:15.
Instructor Bio: Lori began her yoga journey in 2000 as a student at the Santa Barbara Yoga Center. She was drawn to the practice because it helped her to reconnect with her most authentic self while making her stronger and more open, physically and mentally. Her passion for yoga grew stronger as she traveled around the United States during the summer of 2003, practicing at many studios along the way. After settling in Pittsburgh, PA, she completed her teacher training and began teaching in 2006.
Today, Lori is an E-RYT 500 and teaches Vinyasa-based classes. She is influenced by the philosophy and alignment principles of Anusara Yoga. As a triathlete, Lori has an interest in yoga for athletes and has taught many workshops on the topic. She has a passion for the outdoors and has taught yoga in parks, vineyards, and backyards. Lori appreciates the healing and restorative qualities of yoga and has also worked with students who are recovering from illness, rehabilitating injuries, pregnant, or elderly.

The North Bend Public Library invites everyone to join the fun starting at 6:00 Friday evening in their newly remodeled Activity Room. This is a special series of free public dances. The North Bend Public Library, in partnership with the South Coast Folk Society, invites everyone to join the fun starting at 6:00 Friday evening, January 9th, in their Activity Room. This is the first in a series, so you don’t want to miss it. Folk Dance Night at the Library will be a regular monthly offering every second Friday at 6:00.
This free, social gathering is open to new and experienced dancers. Dance to live music from around the world played by skilled local musicians. Beautiful, beginner-friendly dances will be taught throughout the evening. They are fun to do, and easy to learn. If you can walk, you can folk dance, and folk dancing is so much more fun. Don’t be shy, give it a try.
There’s plenty of room for dancing in the spacious, newly remodeled, North Bend Library Activity Room. And, there is room to sit and enjoy live music when you take a moment to rest. Plus there will be refreshments available during the band break.This is an alcohol-free and fragrance-free public event. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Humor, Passion & Power celebrates the human spirit. Opening with Kabalevsky’s The Comedians, the mood then turns expressive with Robert Schumann’s Cello Concerto in A Minor, performed by cellist Garrick Woods. The evening concludes with the Danish composer Carl Nielsen’s Symphony No.1 in G Minor.
Musical Notes begins at 6:30 pm. Attendees who may need assistance getting to the concert can sign up for the Eureka Symphony’s door-to-door Shuttle.
