In Twilight Serenade, lyric soprano Nala Kathleen invites audiences into an evening of music inspired by moonlight, dreams, and the many hues of romance. The program begins in the world of classical song- German Lied, French mélodie, Italian aria, and English art song- capturing the colors of nighttime from the swanlike stillness of love newly awakened to moments when romance becomes bold enough to tease, flirt, and playfully outwit the lover who is eavesdropping.

The Jacksonville Garden Club’s annual Spring Sale will be held on Saturday, May 9th, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. near the Post Office on Oregon Street in downtown Jacksonville. Enjoy beautiful arrangements made from fresh-cut flowers in a range of prices—for Mother’s Day or a nice gift to yourself or a friend. Plants and lovely handmade cards will also be available. The popular bake sale returns this year, featuring sweets and treats made by Club members—also a nice option for Mother’s Day delight. There is something for everyone at the Spring Sale!
Funds raised go to support local students’ scholarships as well as educational activities at the Jacksonville Elementary School. The Club’s funds and its members’ volunteer energies support numerous local beautification projects in Jacksonville.

The 76th Annual Grants Pass Rotary Track Meet, presented by Les Schwab Tire Centers, will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Grants Pass High School, on Russ Warner Field. Top athletes from fifty high schools across Oregon will compete. Admission gates open at 8:30 a.m. and the events commence at 10:00 a.m. Food trucks and refreshments will be available. Bring your sunscreen and have an entertaining, exciting day!
