Community Calendar

We have a wide assortment of food available. Bags with staple items are pre-filled, but we will gladly add any special requests if they are available. When you visit, there is always a simple lunch. On the last Wednesday of every month, we serve a pretty darned good hot meal with salad and a huge table filled with pies and desserts. We call it a community lunch. All are welcomed.

Let’s Celebrate Earth Day! Reduce waste by turning something old into something new to benefit the
pollinators in your garden. We will create a pollinator “water-station” from bottle caps and wood. Family-friendly ages 6+. (Parents may drop off or participate for free).

Instructor Bio: Sarah Greco is the Youth and Family Programs Coordinator at the JCC and a
Jacksonville mom. With a background in early childhood education and developmental psychology, she is
passionate about protecting and celebrating childhood, and supporting parents in our community.

Celebrate Earth Day with Pozitronics & KS Wild

Join your favorite earth lovers, the KS Wild and Rogue Riverkeeper crew, as we host an Earth Day party. 🥳 No signup is necessary! Just put it on your calendar and bring a friend to the party. In addition to the fun, we’ll have live music on our patio and filling the streets with beautiful tunes! Complimentary beverages and light refreshments will be offered for you to enjoy as you kick back and enjoy a beautiful Earth Day with your friends and neighbors. 🎶 Bring your dancing shoes!

Come join us for cribbage. We are part of the American Cribbage Congress (ACC) and play 9 games of competitive cribbage every Wednesday night from September-May. $10 buy in, and we payout on the top scorecards.

Unseen Films Oregon (UFO) is a local nonprofit dedicated to producing bold diversity featured original films, often ignored by mainstream media.

We embrace community involvement while bringing diversity focused quality films. Located in Southern Oregon, UFOs emphasis is on hiring local artists in competitive paid positions for all stages of film production.

Discover the joy of music in this engaging class designed for children 0-5 and their caregivers. This class combines singing, rhythm, movement and sign language. Get ready to sing beloved songs from around the world and make music together in this weekly class! Sponsored by Jackson Care Connect. (Ages 0-5 with accompanying adult -$5 per child ) This program repeats weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Instructor Bio: Laurie Finear has been a music teacher in the Rogue Valley for over 15 years as a certified Music Together teacher. She now creates and teaches her own music classes for children and their caregivers in Ashland and Jacksonville. She is passionate about sharing the joy of music with children and families.

Experienced students are the focus of this ongoing class but beginners may join after contacting the instructor. Tai Chi and Qi Gong are calming practices that incorporate slow movement, breathwork, visualization, and meditation. Consistent practice fosters improved balance, body alignment, coordination, and overall sense of well-being. Tai Chi students will also practice the Qi Gong.

Instructors Bio: I have been a certified Tai Chi Practice Leader (from the Institute of Integral Qi Gong and Tai Chi) since 2015 and have been leading classes locally since then.
