This is the first of two Woodlands Camps

Explore the woods with us in this awesome 4-day camp, led by outdoor educators from the Southern Oregon Land Conservancy and Pollinator Project Rogue Valley. Campers will meet at the JCC and then walk into the nearby Jacksonville Woodlands for exploration, observation, and nature journaling. Join us this summer as we enjoy our local trails and study plants and pollinators like an ecologist.

9:00am-9:10am- campers arrive at the Jacksonville Community Center
9:10am-11:50 am – guided hike, activities, and lunch in the Jacksonville Woodlands
11:50am-12:00pm – parent/guardian pick-up at the Jacksonville Community Center (OR: optional walking transport to Art Presence afternoon camps)

Instructor Bios: Sarah leads the Youth & Family programs at JCC. She is Jacksonville Elementary School parent and experienced childhood educator.

Tara serves as Southern Oregon Land Conservancy’s Education Program Manager. Tara completed her undergraduate studies at Stanford University and got her master’s degree in Natural Science and Environmental Ed. from Hamline University.

Did you ever think you could draw, paint or even sculpt with sheep's wool or alpaca fleece? Well, you can! We will use colorful animal fibers to create uniquely textured artwork and practical objects. Each day will focus on different wet felting and needle felting techniques.

Projects will include wet felted beads and landscapes "paintings", a needle felted bottle cap pin, and needle felted characters.

ALL DAY SUMMER CAMP
Children ages 6 through 11

Dive into four days of creativity and fun! Each day is split into a thrilling half-day at Art Presence and a fun-filled half-day at the Jacksonville Community Center, connected by an escorted midday walk (just four blocks!). You can choose the full experience or enroll for half days only. The cost is just $120 for each four-session, half-day series (Monday through Thursday). Morning sessions spark creativity from 9am to Noon, and afternoon adventures run from Noon to 3pm. Please note: No meals or snacks are provided—pack your own fuel for fun!

June 15 through June 18: Pollinator Garden Camp

Spend the morning exploring the woods at Jacksonville Community Center, then unleash your inner artist in the afternoons at Art Presence! You'll create vibrant watercolor paintings, sculpt amazing clay figures, design beautiful flower collages, and explore the fun of printmaking.

American Legion Grants Pass Post 28 is now having Taco Tuesdays starting on Tuesday March 10th
