GPHS Project Graduation 2026 is sponsoring the annual "Will-A-Thon" to raise money for a safe drug and alcohol free party for the Class of 2026. Participants will consult with one of the following volunteer attorneys to have a basic will, power of attorney, and advance directive prepared. Cost $300 Single, $350 Couple. The public is invited to an Afternoon Tea and English Country Dance at the Bay Area Senior Activity Center Sunday, February 15, from 5-7:30PM. All ages welcome. This special event will feature live music by the Summer Wind Enseble, a professional South Coast quintet. Singles and couples can all enjoy the enchanting beauty of English Country Dancing. It’s easy to learn and a pleasure to experience. New dancers can also English Country Dancing. It’s a graceful, and a very enjoyable form of casual social dance. Callers will guide you throughout the evening. Please be on time for their dance lesson at 5pm.
The Summer Wind Ensemble plays lovely arrangements of traditional English dance tunes. This vibrant band features Cynthia Stone on flute, Penny Mcleod on piano, Sharon Rogers on oboe, Al Rumsch on recorder, and Gerry Canning on guitar. Their music is the perfect complement to these endearing English dances. If you prefer not to dance, you and your friends can relax to this lovely music with a cup of tea.
The South Coast Folk Society will be your host for this event, and all South Coast residents are encouraged to attend. Enjoy time-honored dances like “The Wood Duck”, “Sapphire Sea”, and “The Bashful Swain”. Comfortable, casual attire is recommended. Period dress is welcome.
This event is alcohol and fragrance free. It will take place at the Bay Area Senior Activity Center, 886 South 4th in Coos bay. Refreshments, including scones and tea, will be served. Hear The Power of Song when four choirs from across the state come together to sing for peace, social justice and the Earth. The concert features Eugene Peace Choir, In Accord Community Choir, Portland Peace Choir, and Rogue Valley Peace Choir. This morning LIFT yoga hour connects the mind and body through faster-paced, flowing sequences and breath synchronization. This full body workout is designed to build strength and flexibility, burn calories and stress, fine tune the core and body intuition in a fun and uplifting ambiance. These vibrant and dynamic poses help us to reap the mental health benefits of emotional regulation, stress reduction, sleep enhancement, and overall well-being in the present moment. Mindy Smith took her first yoga class as a college elective and has been devoted to the practice ever since. She studied Vinyasa Yoga under renowned teacher Shiva Rea in Venice Beach, CA, and has been a full-time health education professor at West Los Angeles College since 2001. In 2008, she expanded her teaching to include semester long yoga electives for the kinesiology department.
Mindy's additional training includes prenatal and post natal yoga, yoga for children, and Mental Health First Aid. She has led college wide workshops on yoga, meditation, and self-care for students, staff and faculty, alike.
In 2011, Mindy spent six transformative months traveling through India, where she studied Ayurveda—India’s traditional “science of life”—and deepened her understanding of yoga, breathwork, and meditation at the source. She integrates this ancient wisdom into her own teaching, creating a dynamic blend of modern science, anatomical alignment and traditional practice.

Instructor Bio: Laurie Finear has been a music teacher in the Rogue Valley for over 15 years as a certified Music Together teacher. She now creates and teaches her own music classes for children and their caregivers in Ashland and Jacksonville. She is passionate about sharing the joy of music with children and families.

Transitions - After telling your story, it’s time to transition from the past and learn from it, forming a new "normal".
Boundaries - Figure out what an appropriate boundary is for family, friends, significant others, and even yourself.
Rebuilding - Work on building better relationships and a whole new life.
