Mon 9AM | Elderly American population exploded in early 21st century, as did the industry of assisted living

Death isn’t anyone’s favorite topic. But it’s a reality we all must deal with. We hope we can put it off for as long as possible. And if we’re successful, we can age gracefully to the end. But unless we’re prepared for the industry that escorts the elderly to that door of passing, we may be in for shocking discoveries.

Judy Karofsky learned first-hand many lessons while helping her mother navigate an unknown world of elderly care and hospice. Judy joins the Exchange to discuss her new book, “DisElderly Conduct: The Flawed Business of Assisted Living and Hospice.”

ABOUT
Judy was one of the first women mayors in the state of Wisconsin. She held leadership roles in housing and economic development. She’s also led a statewide women’s network and coalition of aging groups. Judy founded her own real estate research firm and has taught both corporate and personal finance in her career.
