JPR Live Session: Bandits On The Run

Ways To Subscribe

The New York trio joined us from their home in Brooklyn to gather around one mic for a few songs from their new EP called Now Is The Time.

The one microphone configuration is nothing new to Bandits on the Run. When cellist Sydney Shepherd happened to cross paths with guitarist Adrian Blake Enscoe in a subway station, the two struck up a conversation that led to a musical partnership and more. Shortly after, Regina Strayhorn (performer of all manner of instruments) joined them to complete the trio.

Taking cues from the attention-grabbing style of subway busking, complete with three-part harmonies choruses and foot-stomping rhythms, Bandits On The Run have been making waves via NPR's Tiny Desk competitions and a new EP that looks forward to the return of in-person music making.

As FM Network Program Director and Music Director, Eric oversees many aspects of JPR's broadcast day. He still hosts the occasional Open Air or classical music shift, and is the driving force behind JPR Live Sessions - our popular series of live in-studio music performances and conversations.
