JPR Live Session: Passenger

Ways To Subscribe

It's hard to believe there's an artist whose "other" songs have been streamed hundreds of millions of times, but for Passenger (aka Michael Rosenberg) the worldwide hit Let Her Go set a new bar.

On Passenger's new album Songs For The Broken Hearted, he addresses the emotions of a recent breakup through a collection of characters who are each, in their own way, dealing with emotional distress. For Rosenberg, the creation of Passenger as his musical persona has proven useful when needing to put some of the rawness of his songs at arms-length.

He joined us to talk about the new album, his time playing for dozens of people in bars around Australia, and the incredible change in direction his life took after the explosion of Let Her Go. He also played us a couple of tunes from the new album as well as a gorgeous version of what he calls "the big guy."

As FM Network Program Director and Music Director, Eric oversees many aspects of JPR's broadcast day. He still hosts the occasional Open Air or classical music shift, and is the driving force behind JPR Live Sessions - our popular series of live in-studio music performances and conversations.
