Pruitt knew early on that life as a musician was in her future, but it was a win at a songwriting competition in 2016 that added the confidence she'd need to make a go of it.
Expectations, her full-length debut album, was released in the summer of 2020 and was met with widespread acclaim. For an artist trying to launch a successful first national tour, the timing could have been better, but Pruitt has made the best of the situation, embracing online performances, working on her craft, and writing new music. She also released a couple of wonderful covers of Neil Young songs in the fall, and hopes to be out on the road as soon as the new year allows.
She joined us from her home in Nashville to play a few songs from Expectations.
