JPR Live Session: Donovan Woods (2020)

The award-winning Canadian singer/songwriter has been spending time in his home of Toronto during the pandemic. He shared a few beautiful performances of tunes from his new album called Without People.

The hushed vocals of Donovan Woods belie a deeper emotional connection - one Woods cultivates through inspection of the smaller moments in life. Moments that are easy to gloss over but contain everything that makes us who we are.

Splitting time between his newly adopted home of Nashville, and his pandemic base of Toronto, Woods was recently honored with promotional billboards in both cities - a striking occurrence for a guy who wonders "why they'd put someone who looks like me on a billboard."

He spoke about the crafting of his "small songs" found in his new album Without People, and how he created a project called With People to help elevate artists of all different types.

As FM Network Program Director and Music Director, Eric oversees many aspects of JPR's broadcast day. He still hosts the occasional Open Air or classical music shift, and is the driving force behind JPR Live Sessions - our popular series of live in-studio music performances and conversations.
