JPR Live Session: Tara Dente

Ways To Subscribe

The New Jersey singer/songwriter joined us from a farm in a small town called Red Bank to share a few songs and talk about the special meaning behind the title of her new album Truth In The Mud.

Dente started out as a pianist, but over time made the transition to guitar. Hitting open mics in her early 20s with a rigged-up drum/tambourine contraption, she was a veritable one-woman-band.

These days (when not dealing with pandemic isolation), she plays with a full band, which can be heard on Truth In The Mud, her third full length album released in July on Travianna Records. Across the seven tracks, Dente's talent for memorable melodies and evocative imagery shines through.

She played the title track from the new record, as well as an unrecorded song during her session.

As FM Network Program Director and Music Director, Eric oversees many aspects of JPR's broadcast day. He still hosts the occasional Open Air or classical music shift, and is the driving force behind JPR Live Sessions - our popular series of live in-studio music performances and conversations.
