Craigie (he's almost never called John, by the way) has spent the last decade connecting with fans throughout the United States and beyond. He's done so not only with his musical prowess, but through hilarious, insightful and witty storytelling all presented with an understated delivery.
On his new album Asterisk the Universe, Craigie tackles everything from the enormous (identifying our place in the 21st century) to the mundane (slice of life run-ins with colorful characters.), but all handled with a keen folk singer's ear and thoughtful vocabulary that lends a richness to his stories.
Craigie joined us from his quarantine location to play a few songs from the new album, and talk about his choice of a retro-themed album cover and how his intimate stage presentation translated to a series of stadium-sized shows with Jack Johnson.
