“Artists in Action Festival with 30-40 Artists Demonstrating their Crafts & Live Music”
The sidewalks in Historic Downtown Weaverville will come alive with activity on Saturday, Sept. 13. From 11 am to 3 pm, 30 to 40 artists will demonstrate glass work, painting, ceramics, batik, wood carving, metal work, repurposing junk into treasure, and more during the Trinity County Arts Council's ARTISTS IN ACTION FESTIVAL. The band Hooda Thunkitt will set the tempo playing blues and rock on the UpNorth Deck from noon to 3pm. Kids activities will occur at many locations including Mountain Goat Kids and the Trinity Theater. Sink your hands into clay and try throwing a pot or experience the ancient art of batik. The County-wide Yard Sale is the same Saturday, so the town will be buzzing with activity. Bring the family and experience the ARTS !

The award-winning OSU Land Steward training helps landowners learn about their property and develop a management plan. Create interesting art projects in the Rogue Studio and explore our Main, Community, and Members’ Gallery spaces with an art scavenger hunt the whole family will enjoy! Join the fun, learning fast, fun painting techniques while enjoying a delicious lunch and beverages (alcohol-free). Take home your own finished canvas of a cheerful seashore with or without daisies or a sunset. Artist-Instructor Heidi will guide you through the process with easy to-follow steps for a beautiful result to take home or gift. Bring friends, family or sweethearts for more fun! Ages 9 – Adult. Youth 9 – 13 must be accompanied by an adult. All supplies and lunch included.

Instructor Bio: Heidi Elliott is a free-lance mixed-media artist who has taught Snack & Paint style classes for years and encourages everyone to find a creative path. She serves as Jacksonville Garden Club’s First Vice President. Heidi is a Certified Morning Altars Teacher and Practitioner. She loves life here in Jacksonville and is happy to call it home.

Messy Hands - Crystal Bracelets with Jan Van Ek
Jan will introduce you to the world of natural crystals and the art of bracelet making. A variety of natural crystals and unique glass beads will be supplied to help you create a one of a kind bracelet of your own.

Join us for the 2nd annual Jacksonville Wine & Dine Festival! Featuring wine tastings from the 8 wineries of the Jacksonville Wine District paired with food tastings from 8 Jacksonville restaurants PLUS music by Petty Thievery and the Jeff Pevar & Inger Nova Project PLUS numerous local vendors.

This event is co-sponsored by the Jacksonville/Applegate Rotary Club and proceeds will go toward local Rotary projects.

Early Bird tickets $59 for 21+; $20 for under 21. Trolleys will run throughout Jacksonville for transportation.

Evening Instructed Figure Drawing
6 sessions, Tuesdays 5–7:30pm, September 9–October 14
All skill levels welcome. All media welcome

This class will present an intuitive approach to drawing the nude human figure. We will work from the model, incorporating gesture, observation and imagination to create drawings that enhance and develop your own creative style. Beginners as well as those with experience are welcome. In addition to doing exercises in class, we will look at great drawings of the past to discern the elements that make up their beauty. I will be available to offer guidance and direction as needed, and even homework if you desire.
