The award-winning OSU Land Steward training helps landowners learn about their property and develop a management plan. This 11-week program covers critical topics like wildfire risk reduction, forests, soil health, wildlife habitat, pasture management, stream care, water capture and distribution, and much more.
Parent Project is a 10-week series where we go over topics like improving family relationships, using effective discipline to improve school attendance and performance, reduce substance use and negative peer influences, and how to address destructive behavior. It is an opportunity to meet with other parents in similar situations in a judgement free zone and begin to develop a new support system. When you feel like you have tried everything and nothing is working, we can help.Join us on Tuesdays at the Gene Lucas Community Center beginning September 30th from 6pm-8pm. Meet the six faces of climate denial, not as caricatures to dismiss, but as recognizable patterns of thought that still shape how we talk about climate change. By giving these patterns names, we gain new language for spotting them in everyday discussions and for engaging more thoughtfully with friends, colleagues, and communities.
Rather than trudging through old arguments, this talk offers a framework for understanding why denial persists in many forms and how recognizing it can open space for more nuanced, constructive conversations about solutions.Formerly contracted with the Department of Human Services, he supported low-income families reentering the workforce, while also coordinating refugee support events with partners like the Center for Nonprofit Legal Services. Introduction to Zentangle with Joann ClecknerFriday October 24, 1–3pmAll skill levels welcome. Materials provided.
Let’s tangle! Zentangle comes from the word “Zen” and “tangle” (entangled, interwoven) and combines creativity with meditation. Stroke by stroke, simple lines are repeated onto paper. Zentangle is an easy method to learn because it consists of structured patterns. With every line, you can dive further into the world of tangles. In a short time, tangles turn into amazing 3D, graphic, elaborate, beautiful tiles. They are unplanned, abstract, and black and white. All proceeds of this class will be donated to Rogue Gallery and Art Center.
