Fiber Artists Nani Pacal and Thalia Keple will continue to be featured artisans at Shepherd's Dream throughout the month of September. We feature both seasoned and up and coming artisans monthly and invite you to come to our Ashland Flagship Retail Showroom to view these amazing fine art works. Their unique one of a kind pieces, are a feast for the eyes, and have garnered collectors local, regional and nationally. Another co-sponsored event with Creatively Speaking.
The award-winning OSU Land Steward training helps landowners learn about their property and develop a management plan. This 11-week program covers critical topics like wildfire risk reduction, forests, soil health, wildlife habitat, pasture management, stream care, water capture and distribution, and much more.
We have a wide assortment of food available. Bags with staple items are pre-filled, but we will gladly add any special requests if they are available. When you visit, there is always a simple lunch. On the last Wednesday of every month, we serve a pretty darned good hot meal with salad and a huge table filled with pies and desserts. We call it a community lunch. All are welcomed.
Children ages 6-12 will learn how to make blank books to fill with their drawings, notes, or creative stories (Parents may drop off or participate for free).
Instructor Bio: Sarah Greco is the Youth and Family Programs Coordinator at the JCC and a Jacksonville mom. With a background in early childhood education and developmental psychology, she is passionateabout protecting and celebrating childhood, and supporting parents in our community.

Join renowned feminist fiction author and local Jacksonville resident, Louisa Morgan (Louise Marley) as she reads selections from her newly released (26th) published novel: The Faerie Morgana. In this atmospheric and bewitching novel, Louisa reimagines the story of Morgan Le Fay, one of the most enigmatic and powerful women in Arthurian legend.
Louisa will also be offering an exciting two-hour writing workshop as a follow-up to any aspiring writers on Wednesday, Sept. 24 4-6pm.
Presenter, Louisa Morgan (pseudonym for Louise Marley), has been publishing steadily since her first novel appeared in 1995. She is a three-time winner of the Endeavour Award, given for excellence in speculative fiction by a Pacific Northwest author. Previously trained as a classical singer, she performed with the Seattle Opera and Seattle Symphony. She taught voice and related subjects at Cornish College of the Arts and has toured the world as a soloist. She recently settled in Jacksonville and enjoys teaching introduction to writing to adults and teens.
