Savor uncorks a bottle of hot stuff

https://www.wsfoodstyle.com/

Nothing says "I love you" quite like preparing a home-cooked meal.

But why is the meal making you sweat? Because we're past Valentine's Day, and this month's edition of our food segment, Savor, brings the heat.

Food stylist and producer Will Smith rounded up Joey from Joey's Hot Sauce, and we'll have a chat about peppers and Scoville units and other things to know about adding serious spice to food--without hurting yourself.

Will's recipes for the month:

Lisa the Truffle Queen Chicken Marinade
¼ cup Lisa’s truffle queen sauce
2 Tbsp soy sauce
1 Tbsp garlic
1 Tbsp ginger
2 Tbsp syrup, sugar or other sweetener
Mix all ingredients in shallow bowl add chicken and marinate for up to an hour. Roast or grill thighs. Baste often.

50/50 Delicata Squash
¼ cup Joeys 50/50 sauce
2 Tbsp honey
cilantro or scallion as garnish.
1 tsp chopped garlic
1 tsp chopped ginger
Toss with favorite root vegetables or squash, roast at 400F, until golden brown and tender.
