The depth of Oregon's addiction epidemic

As the COVID pandemic loses some of its punch, at least for now, attention turns to another ongoing health crisis: addiction. Alcohol, opioids, and street drugs are all being abused at high rates across the country.

Oregon is having issues getting a handle on the situation, ranking high in addiction rates and low in providing access to addiction treatment. The difficulties have been noticed by Oregon Recovers, a statewide coalition, and Reclaiming Lives/Recovery Café based in Medford.

Mike Marshall of OR and Stephanie Mendenhall of RL/RC guide us through a conversation about what needs to be done to better address addiction and its impacts.
