It surprised no one in public health to see an uptick in reported cases of COVID-19 after Thanksgiving.

For one thing, the people who sought tests, reported the results, and counted the findings generally took the holiday off. Plus, there's reason to believe holiday gatherings may have bumped up the cases a bit.
