A lesson in encouraging creativity, from children's book author Peter H. Reynolds

Sometimes the simplest explanation is the best one. Sometimes a story told simply can better communicate a message.

Sociologists, psychologists, and public health experts talk about the prevalence of loneliness and isolation in our time, with people too often lonely and families too seldom together.

We take up the subject with the author of a children's book on the subject. Peter H. Reynolds is the author of Our Table, about young Violet and her increasing disenchantment with her family members losing themselves in electronic screens.

We talk to the author about writing stories about important subjects for young audiences.
