Plan to preserve key section of Eel River still flowing

A deadline came and went, but the plan to preserve the "Grand Canyon" of the Eel River in Humboldt County is still on track.

A combination of financial and legislative maneuvers kept the project alive despite the October expiration of an option to buy a key piece of land.

The Eel is a short river, but an important one to California for many reasons. The Wildlands Conservancy leads the preservation effort with the Eel River Canyon Preserve; we are joined by TWC Executive Director Frazier Harney.
