Exchange Exemplar: Techniques for moving beyond lingering trauma

Pixabay

Trauma is no stranger in the lives of humans. It's happens to many people, and the effects can last a long time.

But they don't have to, and psychiatrist James Gordon has spent his career working on ways to get people beyond trauma, back to truly living. His work ranges the gamut, from people who were neglected as children to soldiers and victims of war.

The core techniques he uses are laid out in the book The Transformation: Discovering Wholeness and Healing After Trauma.

Dr. Gordon visited a few years ago, and we rejoin the interview here.
