Oregon misses goals for electric vehicle adoption

MikesPhotos/Pixabay

The term "range anxiety" is becoming common as more electric vehicles hit the roads. It refers to the unease some people feel about all-electric cars and trucks... that they can run out of battery power short of a charging station.

Oregon set a goal of 50,000 EVs (electric vehicles) registered by 2020. It missed that goal, by thousands. And at the current pace, will miss the goals for 2025 and 2030 as well.

These numbers and more show up in a recent report to the Oregon Legislature about EV adoption.

Jessica Reichers from the Oregon Department of Energy joins us to lay out the numbers and the reasons for their slow growth.
