Pandemic Drives Blood Donations Down To Critical Levels In Region

Critical Need for Blood Donors

It can always be a challenge to get people to attend blood drives in any summer. This year is worse, and the pandemic probably has a lot to do with that.

People reluctant to get little needles for vaccines are even less likely to welcome the larger ones involved in blood donation. And since blood donations are done indoors, that probably knocks out a few more potential donors.

We get an appraisal of the severity of the blood shortage, particularly in Klamath Falls, with Carisa Hettich and Rebecca O'Rourke of the Red Cross.
