The movie "Nomadland" took away the big prize at the recent Academy Awards: Best Picture. Before it was a movie, it was a book, one featured on a previous edition of the JX.

Jessica Bruder joined us in 2017 to talk about what she found in following aging workers around the country, taking temporary work at Amazon warehouses and other seasonal workplaces.

Nomadland: Surviving America in the Twenty-First Century includes the stories of three actual nomads who also appeared in the movie. We present this interview again in the Oscar afterglow.
