Applegate Author Teaches Making Vinegar (On Purpose)

Maybe you have a couple of different types of vinegar in the fridge for different adventures in cooking and eating.

But maybe you didn't know how easy it can be to make vinegar yourself. It's just fermentation, with a few easy steps to follow.

One of our region's foremost "fermentistas," Kirsten Shockey, lays the steps out in a new book, Homebrewed Vinegar. It shows the way to make 60 different types of vinegar, even from brown bananas.

We set the table for a visit from the author.
