There's no question the world has been through trauma caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. We look ahead to brighter days, with some trepidation about what the future holds.

Randall Bell, a sociologist and economist, points out how people in positions of authority are often trained and equipped to at least try to set things aright after trauma. He works to share the knowledge with the rest of society through his work and through a recent book, Post-Traumatic Thriving: The Art, Science, & Stories of Resilience.

The "master of disaster," as some reporters have called him, stops in with some thinking about life after great upheaval.
