Aging-In-Place Assistance Center Opens In Grants Pass

sabinevanerp/Pixabay

There's always the hope that we'll stay healthy enough as we age to be able to continue living at home, "aging in place," as the current expression puts it. It is easier to do if we can get people to assist us with our needs.

And that is the basic idea of PACE, Program for All-inclusive Care of the Elderly. It is for people 55 and up who qualify for nursing home care but prefer to stay in their own homes.

And AllCare Health based in Grants Pass is in the process of opening up a PACE center to assist seniors in the program. It's the first of its kind in Southern Oregon, and Chief Nursing Officer Deneen Silva and PACE Nurse Practitioner Dana Sheehan explain how it all works.
