Conscious Consumerism And The Challenge Of COVID

Consumer spending continues to be a main driver of economic growth, although consumers were a little more cautious in the final months of 2019.

We learned some hard lessons this year about how far the stuff we buy has to travel to get to our store shelves. The recurring toilet paper shortages alone brought the term "supply chain" into general use.

Jane Mosbacher Morris, the founder of To The Market, works to make the creation and transportation of consumer goods more ethical and sustainable.

She joined us last year to talk about conscious consumerism; she returns to talk about the impact of COVID-19 on that kind of consumerism.
