The recent viral video of a cougar chasing a jogger in Utah reminds us that the big cats are out there. And they don't want people messing with their kittens.

Mark Elbroch is a wildlife biologist and cougar expert. He considers the relationship between humans and cougars in The Cougar Conundrum: Sharing the World with a Successful Predator.

The book takes up the issue of how well cougar populations have rebounded, and whether they need any more help from us to survive. The author shares some of the things he's learned about mountain lions over the years.
