In the first full week of October, Oregon recorded 2,418 new cases of COVID-19 infection. That's an all-time weekly record, so the question of a second wave of the disease is moot at this point.
We still still struggle to fully understand the disease and its transmission. Dr. Jim Shames is the Medical Director at Jackson County Health and Human Services. He visits once a week to catch us up on COVID-19 issues and current concerns. We get additional info in this edition from Tim Mapes, Media Liaison for Public Health in Shasta County, which faces additional restrictions due to rising numbers.
