Becoming More Than A Doctor

Wikimedia Commons

At the moment, the world is highly appreciative of medical professionals. Those are the people who may stand between us and a deadly case of COVID-19.

But healing the body is both science and art, something more than just repairing the human mechanism. Dr. Saul Weiner, an internist, pediatrician, and teacher, lays out the pathway to becoming a fully realized medical professional in his book On Becoming a Healer: The Journey from Patient Care to Caring about Your Patients.

It's a followup to an earlier book on the importance of physicians listening to patients; we welcome Saul Weiner back to the Exchange.
