CROP Aims To Clear Out Illegal Pot

Public Domain, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=68908707

Marijuana is now legal for recreational use in both California and Oregon, but the illegal market persists.  Off-the-books cannabis grow sites take water from streams, leave trash on the landscape, and poison sensitive animal species. Public lands, including U.S. Forest Service lands, have been especially hard-hit.

The CROP Project (Cannabis Removal On Public Lands) brings together diverse organizations with one goal: put the black-market grows out of business.

The member agencies are diverse and include the Community Governance Partnership and the California Wilderness Coalition.  Rich McIntyre from CGP and Ryan Henson from CWC explain the workings of the project.
