You've probably seen for yourself the result of a collision between a deer and a motor vehicle. It is not pretty for either vehicle or deer.
The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) keeps track of animal encounters with traffic, and our region contains some of the roads with the highest numbers of collisions.
ODOT is putting money and people into researching wildlife migration patterns... in the hope of creating spaces where animals and motor vehicles and exist, but not mingle. Oregon Fish and Wildlife has a role here, too. Cidney Bowman, Wildlife Passage Program leader at ODOT, and ODFW biologist Sara Gregory are our guests.
