Putin allowed the young women to be freed from prison, just in time for the Winter Olympics to start in the Russian city of Sochi. And that's exactly where they went, to demonstrate against the regime. The pre-Sochi activities of the women are the subject of Masha Gessen's book Words Will Break Cement: The Passion of Pussy Riot.
