Childcare Least Affordable In Oregon

Grant Barrett/Wikimedia

Oregon can be an expensive place to raise a child.

In actual dollars, other states rank higher, but Oregon families pay a greater portion of their income for child care than in any other state.

The average is 14 percent of income, and the percentage climbs for infants.

Jada Rupley,Oregon's Early Learning System director, explains the dynamics of the situation, and possible solutions.
