Over the course of three critically acclaimed albums, and the occasionally bumpy road in between, Dylan LeBlanc has embraced, perfected, and abandoned more than one approach to making a go of it as a working musician. On his newest offering Renegade - his first since 2016 - he's added a shot of gasoline to the slow simmer of his previous effort Cautionary Tale.
Renegade is Leblanc's legitimate rock record - one he tried to model after the classic Rumours of Fleetwood Mac, enlisting the help of producer extraordinare Dave Cobb to realize his vision. Along with his backing band The Pollies, Leblanc has conjured up a collection of stories about the people he knew growing up in New Orleans, and pits them against a background of driving guitars.
